Samsung Galaxy S6 Full specification

Samsung Galaxy S6 Full specification

Samsung's next Galaxy phone will up the screen size and resolution over the S5, assuming a new round of leaked specs are accurate.

A screenshot leaked by Chinese website CNMO from the database of benchmarking site AnTuTu allegedly displays some of the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S6. Assuming the screenshot is legit, the data reveals some of the core features of Samsung's next flagship phone, following on from the Galaxy S5, which came on the scene earlier this year.

The Galaxy S6 purportedly would sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1,440x2,560 pixels and be powered by a 64-bit, octa-core Exynos 7420 processor. The model number listed in the screenshot is the European version of the phone, according to blog site PhoneArena. So it's possible that other regions in the world would see a different processor, such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, as Samsung has done in the past.

A 20-megapixel came would face rearward, while a 5-megapixel shooter would face forward. Outfitted with Android 5.0 Lollipop, the Galaxy S6 allegedly would come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. However, Samsung is likely to offer versions with more storage and include an SD-card slot to increase the amount of space.

Some of the specs listed in the screenshot line up with an early November report from SamMobile, which said the Galaxy S6 would come with a Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) display, the Exynos 7420 chip, a rear camera with a megapixel range of 16 to 20, and a shot of Android 5.0 Lollipop. In contrast, the Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels.

Whatever specs the S6 sports, Samsung needs to create a phone that can recapture some of its declining sales and market share. For its September quarter, the company reported a 74 percent drop in profits for its mobile business and an overall decline in revenues of 20 percent. The Galaxy S5 has been facing increased competition from lower-cost phones, such as those made by China's Xiaomi. Apple has also turned into a tougher rival. With the debut of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus, Android is no longer the only major game in town for consumers craving big-screened smartphones.

To push demand for its next flagship phone, Samsung has reportedly adopted a codename for the S6 known as Project Zero. Little is known about Project Zero at this point, but reports suggest that Samsung will rethink the phone's design from scratch.

This past year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress in February and then launched the phone to the market in April. So unless the company has a different strategy and time frame in mind for its next flagship phone, we should expect to see the S6 on display in a couple of months.

Where Google trains its drivers not to drive

Where Google trains its drivers not to drive

During a recent visit to Google headquarters in Mountain View , Calif. campus , I have an idea of what the future of " undriving ' might look like.

As Google reveals plans for unmanned vehicles to build yourself , Jack Stewart gets a glimpse into the robot driving school business .

I had access to the team behind self-propelled vehicle from the search giant program . Part of Google X , the company's research branch semi - secret , the crew is hiding the public eye . I was there to find out what is required to use this technology and how it feels to be a test pilot of Google ; a back seat to the vehicle computers , even when he was behind the wheel .

It was an interesting time to see how the unmanned vehicles are ready for the road. Today Google announced plans to begin building their own vehicles , instead of relying on other manufacturers . Until now , Google has been installed in existing technology driverless cars like the Toyota Prius and Lexus RX450hs .

However, Google will own vehicles cute little city car with smiling faces , not threatening , and pedestrian crash characteristics . The reasoning of the company is that if your car will be autonomous, it is not necessary to follow conventional designs .

Although the new cars from Google have been designed to make long strips and pedals refrain top Google wants cars fit specific controls of man , which can be connected and layered on top of self-control , so that cars can be safely tested on public roads . They will be very similar to traveling in the car with a steering wheel and pedals as human driver to take over .

New prototype of an unmanned vehicle was unveiled today by Google ( Google )
They can not touch the main part of a disk , the controls but still have to be here, should still remain alert, scanning the road for their mistakes of independent directors .

Ultimately it is a success as the trips are as uncomplicated as possible . "During the trip, which is fine if it's boring, because it means that it is safe," said Brian Torcellini , chief test pilot of Google and the man responsible for the formation of other drivers not to drive . He is a member of the team since 2009 , and was one of the first pilots of autonomous vehicles .

Current fleet of Google - a few dozen cars - live the base for Google in Mountain View. The Google test pilots can not take it home . The early blue Toyota Prius vehicles are replaced with bright white Lexus SUV . They are easy to recognize; with a laser scanner rather rude on the roof , and the company logo in the primary colors on the side.

" Pilots check in, as anyone would do in the morning , " says Torcellini . " They take the car out , a number of tests , and then go back and check the car out and loads the data . "

Trained by the ends

Google Leads must learn to let the machine do the driving - but are also encouraged to be very careful about the ability of the vehicle to be . If you are ever the least bit uncomfortable with the way the team lead feel, they are told to immediately wrest control away with the press of a pedal or turn the steering wheel . Then engineers can gather information from computers and simulate and extrapolate what the car had . The comparison between the hypothetical human intervention and action can be used to improve the software of the car.

Although they are supposed to be careful, the directors are also trained by the ends . Take cars slalom and skid pans on a test track , to truly experience how they perform in the limit . These are conditions that are very unlikely to encounter , but the hope is that if they ice , such as computers will know how to respond.

"Most of the driving is not driving around cones " Torcellini says , " but we feel that the best thing to do is to educate our people . "

So what is it like to sit in a car driven by a computer? There is certainly no lateral sliding on curves in the day I was sitting in the back seat of an SUV Google , one of the first generation of vehicles throughout the company with the steering wheel .

It appears that one of the biggest challenges for the car starts to hit the road ; drivers should allow the checks to our negotiate the parking lot to hear the soothing female tone of the advertisement " car driving" which tells us that taking over the team away.

" Making History "

"Many of the parking lots , in some way , are more complicated than the street ," said Alyssa , the safety controller . Often there are no proper road markings , and are full of people running in all directions and obstacles such as shopping carts . It 's the kind of busy human driving environment with heavy danger can handle , instinctively , but that might be a computer. Less obvious to

The crew also helps refine the software of the car, keeping the driving experience , updated on a laptop in the passenger seat . "We are constantly leaving comments about little things that we think might be softer and more human-like ," says Alyssa . Trials are essential to the heart of how you feel the trip for the passengers and the people around them . The goal is to driving the car seems logical to integrate with other cars , good and not feel unstable or flickering .

The car accelerates at a fair pace , and faces other traffic , cyclists and pedestrians , as the camera phones , ready , seem to get . Digestion of us whiz Even in Silicon Valley , unmanned vehicles to draw attention in a way that an owner would envy Ferrari - something that both drivers are're used . "Many people have the idea that we have a really good job - and we do," says Loren . "This is history in the making, and it's great to be a part of. "

The board Torcellini if you drive a car without a job of steering sense? "We are looking for people with common sense , " he says. It can be difficult to determine in a sit -down interview on the recruitment process is multistage , and includes an interview of driving . The process is difficult, but as the company expands fleet as ambitious as Google suggests further notice , one thing is clear . It will be a need for more human drivers test before we fully computer controlled cars in the world .

Samsung data center fire causes error messages on products

Samsung data center fire causes error messages on products

A Samsung data center caught fire today, shutting down Samsung.com.

That wasn’t the only tech casualty from the fire, however, as various Samsung products, including Smartphones and TVs, were adversely affected.

The center that went up in flames was the Samsung SDS building in Gwacheon, South Korea. Users weren’t able to access select Samsung applications from their phones, tablets, and Smart TVs as a result of the damage.

The problem was promptly resolved, however, and the outage caused by the fire ended at around 6.15AM this morning. If you’re a glutton for seeing buildings ablaze, check out the YouTube clip below.

Korean news outlets have reported that there weren’t any casualties as a result of the fire (thankfully). The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

It does seem a bit strange that a fire in one location would cause such a widespread issue for Samsung’s user base. Does anyone think that this is unusual?

How do electronic cigarettes work?

How do electronic cigarettes work?

The electronic cigarette came onto the market in 2007 and today the sales have reached over $1 billion a year in the U.S alone. They have proven to be very popular amongst smokers; however we still don’t know just how safe the electronic cigarette is. Scientists did undertake a study internationally and this claimed that the vapour from an electronic cigarette contains anywhere from 9 to 450 times less toxins.

The various components of an electronic cigarette are typically assembled by screwing or pushing together. There is the LED light which glows during usage and it typically simulates the ember of a normal cigarette when inhaling and exhaling. There is a sensor inside the electronic cigarette which can detect the flow of air when an inhalation is made by the user. This tells the battery to turn on and the heating element is subsequently triggered. Some types of electronic cigarette are turned on and off by the use of a button, which the user presses and holds when they want to inhale the vapour.

There is a slim line battery and this is typically lithium-ion. The average amount of puffs, or inhalations, the user gets from a battery charge is around 300. The electricity is passed through a material that is resistant, which is typically made from metal or ceramic and this is what transfers the heat.

The heating element inside the electronic cigarette reaches around 150 degrees Fahrenheit which vaporizes around 0.005 millilitres of nicotine liquid, producing the vapour which is then inhaled by the user, just as they would when drawing on a cigarette. Each of these hits gives the user roughly 90% of the nicotine they would get when they were smoking a cigarette filled with tobacco.

The nicotine in the electronic cigarette is stored as a viscous fluid; this is generally either vegetable glycerine or propylene glycol or even a 50/50 mixture of both. This contains around 1% nicotine along with flavourings. These can either be fruit, menthol or even tobacco flavour. There are also weird and wonderful flavours to choose from, including anything from Coca-Cola to pina colada, apple pie and anything in between.

Finally there is the flexible tip which is put into the mouth, through which the user inhales the vapour. This is often made of silicone and in some cases it is designed to look and feel just like the filter on a real cigarette. Electronic cigarettes come in different sizes, just as you would get normal or king-size in tobacco cigarettes.

There are many accessories on the market to go with the electronic cigarettes, these typically include USB chargers, either cable like or made to look like the box that cigarettes are packaged in, which keep your electronic cigarettes charged up as the box itself is charged first. Other accessories include wallets and neck straps to hold the cigarette and even desktop holders.

May give Dhoni a souvenir stump if India win World Twenty20: EcKermann

May give Dhoni a souvenir stump if India win World Twenty20: EcKermann

He is as possessive about his invention as much he is about his children but Bronte EcKermann would not mind giving Mahendra Singh Dhoni a souvenir LED stump if India lift the World Twenty20 trophy.

"Well, this is a very costly system. The entire set-up during a match costs $40,000 (Rs 25 Lakh approx), so I don't allow the players to uproot it during any celebrations. But I know Dhoni loves keeping a souvenir stump. If India can win the final, I might get into some arrangement with Dhoni," EcKermann, the inventor of 'LED stumps', said during an interaction on Wednesday.
EcKermann has got 32 stumps and 40 bails for the tournament and each bail costs as much as an iPhone. He will take all the equipment back, once the tournament is over. The qualified Industrial designer has also got the LED stump patented.
"The idea was to make it touch friendly. The light might not glow if someone tries to hit with a hammer but if the wicketkeeper touches the bail with ball in his gloves and even a feather touches, it would. It would make the decisions easier for the third umpire as to what exactly was impact when bail was dislodged from the stumps."
Asked about how much time it took to give his dream shape, Eckermann said, "It took around three years to turn my dream into a reality. I conceived the idea when I saw my little daughter play with a ball that would light up whenever she bounced the ball. Then it struck about how if I could create a system which would make cricket a bit more colourful."
"I started working on the set-up. I still believe that Test cricket is the most pristine form but my idea was to make T20 a bit more colourful."
But monetising the project was another aspect that worried EcKermann.
"I came in touch with David Leigitwood and he was ready to come in as a commercial partner and thus Zing International was formed. Once I felt that it was foolproof, I approached Cricket Australia with an offer to use this in Big Bash," EcKermann said.
"On a trial basis, it was first used in a club game in Adelaide. Once CA authorities were convinced, it was decided that it would be used in the 2012 edition of Big Bash," EcKermann added.
For him, the best compliment came from Shane Warne after he was apprised of the technology.
"He said that for these LED stumps, he will add a new delivery to his armoury. It will be known as 'Disco Ball'. Shane said that his only aim would be to hit the stumps so that it lights up just like a discotheque."
EcKermann is in talks with BCCI also regarding using it during the upcoming Indian Premier League but is yet to sign a contract on dotted lines.
"Yes, I would be glad if the technology is used in the IPL. We are in negotiations with the IPL authorities but nothing concrete has happened. I don't know whether it's got late (since IPL starts April 16), but I am certainly interested in having a tie-up."
But does he get scared if he thinks of a situation that the product which is a costly one would get damaged inadvertently by a player.
"Well, when Malinga bowls those toe-crushing Yorkers, my blood runs cold. I am only scared of one bowler and that is Lasith Malinga," he said in jest.
"But on a serious note, I get delighted when Malinga is able to rattle the stumps as it lights up the surrounding. I wish he could do more like that," he concluded.

How To Get Android KitKat Immersive Full-Screen Mode On Any Device

How To Get Android KitKat Immersive Full-Screen Mode On Any Device

Android KitKat 4.4, introduced by Google late on last year, brought with it an abundance of useful features, but due to the fragmented nature of the ecosystem, not everybody on Android has been able to enjoy its numerous perks. In fact, only a very small fraction of the Droid-wielding faithful have tasted the chocolatey, delicious new flavor, but thanks to the dedication of a wider community, those on older firmware needn’t miss out on all of the new features. The Immersive Mode, for example, turns the process of using any one of you favorite apps into a full-screen experience, and now, thanks to a third-party app, you don’t need to be on KitKat 4.4 to take advantage.

Thanks to the endeavors of developer Pieter Pareit, Immersive Mode is no longer reserved only to those on Android 4.4 KitKat. Upon installation of his Play Store utility, you’ll be able to view apps without having to see on-screen buttons or the status bar. Not only does this provide more real estate for the content at hand, but it minimizes distractions, and also, presents a generally cleaner aesthetic with less unnecessary clutter.

Costing a very reasonable $1.37 on the Google Play Store (£0.82 for folks in the UK), the self-explanatory Immersive Full-Screen Mode will take full advantage of your device’s display real estate, and one of the most impressive aspects is that it doesn’t require root. There’s nothing wrong with acquiring root access, of course, since it opens up a world of unlimited possibilities and is something we actively encourage here at Redmond Pie, but it’s always nice when apps function with minimal hacking involved.

But while the fact that it works without root is certainly noteworthy, there are one or two limitations. Thanks largely to Android’s own security measures, you won’t be able to use your device’s keyboard in a number of apps when in Immersive Mode, so obviously, it’s only going to be useful in situations where a keyboard isn’t necessary.

It’s a bit of a shame that the keyboard is hindered in this manner, and takes some of the sheen off what is otherwise a polished experience. Still, if you can see some value in a full-screen option that caters to most apps, be sure to check the link below.

New iPad Pro Concept Packs A 12.9-inch 4K Display, iPad Air-Like Form Factor And More [Images]

New iPad Pro Concept Packs A 12.9-inch 4K Display, iPad Air-Like Form Factor And More [Images]

A new iPad Pro concept cooked up by the folks of German design outfit CURVED Labs demonstrates precisely the kind of product that power users of the Apple slate would probably be seeking. Packing a sumptuous 12.9-inch 4K display of almost 300ppi, the device, which does seem a little idealistic if we’re honest, manages to retain the same thinness as the iPad Air, and although we doubt that Apple could possibly stuff such a high-spec IPS panel in this kind of form factor, it’s not as though Jony Ive and his hardware design team haven’t pulled off similarly improbable feats in the past.

Tim Cook recently alluded to some “new product categories” releasing in 2014, but as you’d expect from the CEO of one of the biggest companies around, he remained tight-lipped regarding specifics. The possibility of Apple joining the likes of Samsung and Sony by delivering a smartwatch to the market is certainly on the cards with the hotly-rumored ‘iWatch’, and the iPhone 6, while not a new product in itself, is particularly exciting given that many sources have touted that two, notably larger models are in the offing.

As well as iWatch and iPhone 6 chit-chat, though, there has also been this lingering idea of an ‘iPad Pro’ manifesting itself at some point this year. With the success of the iPad Air and its smaller counterpart, the iPad mini, there’s a feeling that an iPad ‘maxi’ or ‘iPad Pro,’ would compete the line-up.

It’s a well-known fact that Apple wants to boost its slate’s credentials as a serious device for productive folk as opposed to just a consumption device for gaming and movies, and what better way to underline this intention than to come through with a feature-rich, larger Pro model, akin to the MacBook range?

CURVED Labs certainly thinks the product should be in Apple’s considerations, and as such, has come through with an interesting iPad Pro concept. Samsung’s Galaxy NotePro, which packs a 12.2-inch display, has those workhorse features – like split-screen viewing for running multiple apps simultaneously – that many tablet users crave, and with the iPad Pro, Apple would have the opportunity to cater to that higher-end bracket of the market.

As well as the awesome screen and svelte form factor, the iPad Pro runs on a 64-bit A8 processor, and would take a leaf out of Samsung’s book with support for stylus-like peripherals.

Would you be interested in such an iPad Pro device? Feel free to drool over the images of this truly remarkable design, and be sure to leave your comments below!

Intel 3rd Gen i7 vs Intel 4th Gen i5: Which one is better

Intel 3rd Gen i7 vs Intel 4th Gen i5: Which one is better

The mobile i5's are good for what you are looking for if all you are doing is school work and gaming. Some mobile i5's are dual core with hyper-threading others are quad cores with no hyper-threading.Make sure it is a quad core i5 not a dual core i5 if you want to use your laptop for gaming.

The only true deference between the 3rd gen and 4th gen CPUs are power consumption, the 4th gen CPU's are better for laptops because they will extend your battery life of the laptop, Also Haswell is 10% over all over the 3rd gen CPU's but in real world performance the end user will not be able to tell a true difference between the two chips.

If you are doing projects like video editing/rendering, 3D rendering or graphic designing then the i7's are great for those types of application but when gaming the i7's because of hyper-threading can hurt your FPS in games as almost no game on the market to date utilizes hyper-threading.

If your parents have already bought the 3rd gen i7 laptop then I would not be disappointed for not getting a 4th gen i5 Laptop but if you are still looking and have not purchased the laptop yet, then I would go with the i5 4th gen laptop.

Bajaj Unveils Pulsar CS400, Pulsar SS 400 [Live]

Bajaj Unveils Pulsar CS400, Pulsar SS 400 [Live]

Pulsar 375, Pulsar 200 SS are all things of the past because Bajaj Auto has unveiled two new hot bikes at the 2014 Auto Expo. Both bikes are distant cousins of the KTM Duke 390 but are in concept form currently, the detailing of these vehicles is insane. The bikes are called the Pulsar CS400 and Pulsar SS400, one is a naked street-fighter while the other is a full faired machine. We don’t have much details yet but the engine will be a 373.2cc single-cylinder unit. The bikes have ABS and look really stellar.
The bike has a lot of Ducati influence, visible in the all digital console. We will get more details and update this post but the pictures speak a thousand words so stay tuned as we bring you more from the 2014 Auto Expo.

Satya Nadella Announced As New Microsoft CEO; Bill Gates Steps Down As Chairman Of Board [VIDEO]

Satya Nadella Announced As New Microsoft CEO; Bill Gates Steps Down As Chairman Of Board [VIDEO]

In what will no most important day in the technology sector doubt the news, Microsoft announced that Satya Nadella will take the helm as the next CEO of the company. Outgoing Steve Ballmer announced his retirement in August last year and since it was naturally a little speculation about who could fill those rather large shoes. Now Nadella, who has been with the software company based in Redmond for 22 years, became the third CEO in 40 years of history on the company after the co-founder Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.

Gates, who founded the company in 1975 along with Paul Allen, remains a member of the board at the company he held the reigns for through decades of growth, and was among the first to welcome Nadella as the Windows maker’s leading man. In a brief video, which you’ll find embedded below, a “very excited” Gates explains why Nadella is a perfect fit for job; a man with “the right background to lead the company” towards continued innovation.

Interestingly, one of the first things Nadella has requested is that Gates steps up and plays a more active role in the company as it moves forward, and the Microsoft veteran has duly obliged, adding in his welcome speech that he will hence forth be committing “one third of [his] time to meet with product groups” as the company transcends into a new era. As such, Gates has also stepped down as the chairman of the board, a continuation of which would certainly have hindered this new hands-on role.

Nadella played a pivotal role in Office 365, and with many of the big companies focusing their efforts on the cloud, his knowledge will certainly place Microsoft in a strong position. Windows devices are more cloud-reliant than ever before, and with the all-new Xbox One also focused on this infrastructure, you feel that Nadella’s influence could be era-defining for the influential company.

With Nadella’s background in electrical engineering, it’s no surprise that Gates has jumped at the opportunity to play a more cardinal role on the board, and with more than a few associated with Microsoft having seen Ballmer’s leadership as hindering the company’s progress in innovation, today’s announcement will be welcomed by many.

You can see Nadella’s first address as CEO below, as well as the Gates welcome speech:

Top 70 High Paying Keywords for Google Adsense (2014)
